🙊 AIN’T NO WAY
12-Year-Old Girl Forced to Release Pet Rock, “Petunia,” Due to License Issue 🪨
Palm Coast, Florida— A 12-year-old girl’s bond with her pet rock, Petunia, was shattered this week when local authorities demanded the rock be returned to the wild. Citing a “lack of proper licensing” and failure to register in the “National Pet Rock Database,” officials insisted Petunia had to be “returned to the river immediately.”
“I don’t understand,” said Tami Spangler, 12, tearfully clutching Petunia’s adoption receipt. “She didn’t eat my snacks or bark. She was perfect!”
The trouble began when a local “Rock Enthusiast Group” alerted authorities about Petunia’s unregistered status. “Without proper documentation, pet rocks can pose serious risks to local gardens,” said Officer Jenkins, who led the operation.
Tami was left heartbroken as Petunia was put into a plastic bag labeled “Return to River.” Local fisherman expressed concern over the rock’s impact on the river’s ecosystem. “Rocks don’t belong in the water unless they’ve earned it,” said local fisherman Richard Cranium.
Despite the setback, Tami remains hopeful. “I’m not giving up on her,” she said. “We’ll get the paperwork sorted. She’s my rock.”
Petunia’s future remains uncertain, but Tami is already looking into adopting another rock—after she navigates the legal red tape.
Update: Petunia was last spotted near a scenic part of the Matanzas Inlet, appearing both resigned and defiant.

🐊 RETRO FLORIDA
1960s Oasis Visitor Center ✈️
The National Park Service's "Oasis Visitor Center" at 33100 Tamiami Trail East in Ochopee. Built in the 1960s, this building was once a private airport with a hangar and restaurant. It was rather eye-catching from the road due to the passenger plane mounted to its roof as decoration. Later it was a service station. The building was eventually purchased by the National Park Service in the 1980s to be used as a visitor center. Today, the building serves as the Oasis Visitor Center. Inside, there are exhibits, educational materials, sales items, and an introductory film. Outside, you can find an accessible boardwalk that takes you along a canal that is a perfect place to spot an alligator or two! Staff are available to assist visitors with information about available activities.

🌐 AROUND THE INTERWEBS
North Korea Bans Hot Dogs as "Western Decadence" 🌭
In a surprising move, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has officially banned the sale and consumption of hot dogs, calling them a symbol of "decadent Western culture." Violating this ban could result in harsh punishments, including imprisonment in labor camps.
The ban also extends to popular dishes like budae-jjigae (army base stew), which includes hot dogs and other Western-inspired ingredients. The regime views these foods as threats to North Korean identity and is cracking down to preserve traditional values.
This action is part of a broader effort to eliminate Western influence and reinforce the country’s cultural identity. What are your thoughts on this? 🤔
